It didn't snow this year

It wasn't as cold as I feared it would be when during our recent camping trip to Alpine, Texas. Last year we came for the Concours Rally and it SNOWED (thankfully we weren't camping last year). It was so cold we didn't even make it down to Big Bend National Park. This year the weather was BEAUTIFUL. Perfect for camping, really. Perfect for hiking too, except I did get a bit of a sunburn, which I am blaming on cubicle living and higher elevation. Luis loved camping and hiking and rock climbing. We are going to have to take him out to Hueco Tanks for weekend rock climbing, and we have plans to do more camping this summer. I am thinking Rock Hound State Park, Three Rivers Petroglyph area. I am also thinking we won't make any efforts to meet up with that Councours Owners Group again. Last year we rode & spent time with several different people who were also at the rally but quite a few weren't regular members. We had a good time, despite the weather. Despite the leader, who was actually quite rude on several different occasions. Maybe he was having two off days in a row? Who knows, who cared. This year, since we didn't stay at the hotel, but camped at least a half hour away, Friday night they arranged a time to meet to head on the days ride. But Jeff arrives & the group had left before the agreed upon time! Lots of rallys leave late, but early? Never heard of it! Jeff ran into them later during the day and even after discussing with them chose to ride on his own. We met up with Jeff later and checked out some places together, had a picnic. Jeff probably got more riding in on his own, but its nice to ride with a group sometimes & Jeff does love to talk with them. The guy in charge has been for several years, I hear, but why hasn't he figured out you are going to have to be a little bit sociable if you want to head up a club, made up of people? If you aren't a people person, fake it or give it up to someone who is! So, the search for a motorcycle club continues...more than 4 years after moving to Texas...
